Heritage Days 2011338 viewsChildren festooned their bicycles and enjoyed a ride around the village as a part of the 2011 Mattapoisett Heritage Days on August 6. Other Saturday activities included guided village tours, an evening concert and a treasure hunt. Mattapoisett bustled with activities on Saturday, but the bonfire was canceled due to wind, and many Heritage Days activities were canceled on Sunday due to heavy rain. Photos by Felix Perez.

The Militia demonstrated 18th century living, made beef stew, completed drills, and talked about the dentistry methods of that time period. A passing motorist saw the flames and helped direct the occupants to safety. No injuries were reported, but Police Chief Paul Magee reported that the vehicle was a "total loss". Memorial Day Boat Race338 viewsOn Monday, dozens of boats hit the Mattapoisett River for the 78th Annual Rochester Memorial Day Boat Race. Boat 1, comprised of Sean Shaw of Rochester and C.J.
