108th Annual Rochester Grange Fair 231 viewsThe 108th Annual Rochester Grange Fair was held on August 18 with a wide variety of produce, floral bouquets, baked goods, handicrafts, and works of art. The state first place winner for her diorama depicting a barn that contained fresh eggs and produce was Susan Guiducci of Dartmouth. There were a total of 35 entries vying for other blue ribbons in many other categories. Sue LaFluer, grange secretary and one of the fair organizers said that participants ranged in age from 6 years of age and beyond.

The shows start at 7:30 pm at Tabor’s Fireman Center for the Performing Arts in Hoyt Hall at 245 Front Street, Marion. Bradford welcomed the public to a groundbreaking ceremony for an 1,800-foot universally accessible wheelchair boardwalk on June 29 at the SLT’s Osprey Marsh property on Point Road in Marion. SLT board members, contributors, and a few community members were in attendance. They hope to have the 1,800 ft. all accessible/wheelchair boardwalk completed in six months. This boardwalk will be the first of its kind in the Southcoast region.
