Local 4-H clubs brought animals, while Rochester's Boy Scout and Cub Scout troops provided games that included a soft-ax throw and soft archery-challenge games. Car Show106 viewsThe September 5 car show and sock hop held at the Rochester Council on Aging found the grounds filled with more than 85 vintage cars and several hundred spectators. The fundraiser also featured raffles, along with hamburgers and hot dogs cooked up by the Rochester Fire Department. Handling the root beer float station were members of the Police Department. On hand were members of the Plymouth County TRIAD, a nationally recognized program linking seniors with local safety strategies and agencies.

Rochester Fire Department106 viewsMembers of the Rochester Fire Department participated in full gear for Saturday’s, 3-mile Team Hero's Walk held at Fort Taber in New Bedford. In the department’s 10th year walking, the participants raised $8,500, the largest amount raised to date as they symbolized the extra weight of living with Multiple Sclerosis. In 2014, Deputy Fire Chief and Highway Surveyor Jeff Eldridge was diagnosed with MS after experiencing the pain of trigeminal neuralgia, a condition he continues to battle while serving the Town
