Frosty Runner Road Race221 viewsRunners who participated in the third annual Frosty Runner Road Race enjoyed spring-like weather, perfect for a 10 mile or 3 mile run through the neighborhoods of Rochester. The two separate races were run simultaneously, beginning and ending at Old Colony Regional Vocational Technical High School on Saturday February 1. Rochester Council on Aging St. Patrick's Day Luncheon221 viewsThe folks at the Rochester Council on Aging never miss a holiday or a chance to gather together to celebrate. On Friday, March 14, the COA hosted an Irish luncheon, complete with, of course, corned beef and cabbage to mark the occasion. Irish or not, most donned their St. Paddy’s green and broke bread together with Selectman Naida Parker, who assisted in serving up lunch, along with COA Director Sharon Lally. Beginning at Grandma Hartley’s Reservoir on Snipatuit Road, boaters paddled the almost 12-mile race route to Herring Weir at River Road in Mattapoisett. There were 65 teams in all.
