The country fair committee held a tractor pull/swap fundraiser on April 29. Those who attended got an early taste of the sights, sounds, and smells of the Rochester Country Fair with dirt flying, engines blasting, and diesel smoke billowing up into the air. The addition was dedicated to contractor Matthew Sherman, who passed away before completion of the project. The pinewood derby is a tradition that was started back in 1963 in Manhattan Beach, California and persists to this day.
