First Congregational Church of Marion Summer Fair12 viewsThe First Congregational Church of Marion Summer Fair was held on July 27 with an effort to raise funds for the restoration of its clock tower. Main Street was closed to traffic so visitors could enjoy several booths full of goods for sale, along with sports equipment, while visiting the Penny Pinchers’ Exchange, a lobster roll or a burger or dog from the grill. Marion Natural History Museum12 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum's Coastal Exploration group had a great time exploring freshwater and saltwater ecosystems this summer. We took a close look at tadpoles and salamanders undergoing metamorphosis, spotted turtles fighting with each other, a water snake, silversides and shrimp and much more. Many thanks to Marion Recreation Department for turning on the water at Washburn and to Adam Miller and Zack Ciesielski of the Marion Harbormaster's office for their help collecting plankton samples. Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery12 viewsA rousing, opening-night crowd greeted actors Scott Fishman, Matt Lynds, Allie Goodman, Kate Martin and Elizabeth Rapoza in “Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery,” which plays two more weekends at the Marion Art Center’s Anne Braitmayer Webb Theater. Presiding was the Benjamin D. Cushing VFW Post 2425 Color Guard.
