Marion Natural History Museum93 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum wishes to thank Plymouth County Entomologist Blake Dinius for his presentation, "To Bee or not to Bee." Blake explained that although wasps are not well-received, all of our bees are wasps. However, not all wasps are bees. Bees are a subgroup of wasps and can be seen as a "vegetarian" wasp and get their protein from pollen. Bees are also much hairier than wasps. Blake jokes that bees are "hippie" wasps. Marion Village 5k Road Race93 viewsKim Bolick, 29, of Watertown finished first overall in 18:14 to win the Marion Village 5k Road Race that was held on June 25. Will Vrattos, 17, of Marion finished in 18:53 to edge 16-year-old Samuel Shrestha (19:00) of Dartmouth for third place overall and second among male finishers. Bird Island93 viewsMany thanks to Marion Harbormaster Isaac Perry and the whole harbormaster crew for giving us the experience of a lifetime exploring the nesting habitats of the Common and Roseate Terns when they're in our area.
