Chief Garcia Retires140 viewsAt 2:06 pm on Friday, December 11, Marion Chief of Police John Garcia signed off to radio dispatch, ending his shift and a law enforcement career that spanned three and a half decades. The Town of Marion recognized his retirement with a drive-thru sendoff outside the Cushman Community Center. Marion Natural History Museum140 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum's afterschool group had a wonderful time setting off their rockets on June 9. Despite the blistering hot weather, the rockets were all successfully launched, and the parachutes deployed (most of the time). The students had built their rockets at home before the program with a YouTube video created by the program's presenter, Mike Cronin.

Marion 4th of July Parade140 viewsMarion Town Administrator Jay McGrail and Select Board members Norm Hills, John Waterman, and Randy Parker walked the Independence Day parade route on Monday morning along with veterans, marching bands, Boy and Girl Scout troops, youth baseball teams, decorated floats, fire engines, and a convoy of antique cars. Beginning at the Town House, the parade route went up Spring Street, then east on Route 6 before going right onto Front Street all the way down to Main Street and back up to Spring. Photos by Ryan F

The festival featured live music and words presented by area and national contributors, along with video tributes and a fire show.
