St. Gabriel's Church Youth Group 153 viewsOn Saturday, January 25, St. Gabriel's Church Youth Group in Marion, hosted a Spaghetti Dinner to raise funds for our summer mission trip to North Carolina for hurricane relief efforts. Our team of 20 teens & 6 adults made all of the food and served the meal. We had a sold-out event! It was a fun evening of good food, great fellowship & awesome live music. Marion Water152 viewsAs the Boil Water Order remained in effect for the Town of Marion through a second weekend, fresh water was made available to residents on October 16. All hands were on deck as members of the Select Board, Fire Department, Police Department, and DPW assisted. Select Board Chair Norm Hills said that 1,000 cases of water would be distributed throughout the day at the Cushing Community Center. Each household with proof of residency received one case of bottled water.

Soapbox Derby152 viewsMarion and Rochester Cub Scouts came together on November 6 for a soapbox derby on Holmes Street in Marion. The longtime fundraising event was not held in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic but made a roaring return on Saturday, as children raced their homemade go-carts and collected donations for the Murphy and Others, Living Interdependently for Future Endeavors, Inc. The Town of Marion recognized his retirement with a drive-thru sendoff outside the Cushman Community Center. Marion Council on Aging150 viewsThe Marion Council on Aging held a St. Patrick's Day "Grab N Go" luncheon on Tuesday at the Cushing Community Center. Seniors were treated to a drive-thru pickup of a boxed lunch featuring potato leek soup, a corned beef Rueben sandwich with sauerkraut and Russian dressing served with kettle-cooked chips, a dill pickle, and pistachio cake for dessert.
