Marion Town Party 313 viewsThe town collected hundreds of wood pallets and stacked them sky high in the ball field beside the Town House in anticipation of the annual Marion Town Party on Saturday, August 27. Living History 313 viewsIt looked like July 8, 1776 at Silvershell Beach in Marion this past Saturday. Folks from the Fairhaven Village Militia and Wareham Militia Group in conjunction with Marion Recreation and the Marion Cultural Council took spectators back in time to Colonial Massachusetts during a weekend-long encampment at the beach. Participants in olde-tyme apparel demonstrated what life was like in the 1770s during the Revolutionary War through demonstrations of drilling, cooking, and flintlock musket use. Photos by Jean
