Students used binoculars to view robins, cardinals, mourning doves and Canada geese. We also spoke about the Great Backyard Bird Count that took place February 17-20. Tabor Academy Polar Plunge324 viewsTabor Academy hosted its second annual Polar Plunge on Sunday, January 21 at Silvershell Beach to raise money for the school’s Special Olympics Young Athletes Program. Students from ‘fundraising rival’ Sandwich High also showed up, with scores of students and staff making a dash in and quickly out of the chilly waters. The plunge raised about $8,000. The students constructed their own boat, either a single hull or catamaran, and added a sail and keel. Kneel for Nine324 viewsA peaceful crowd gathered on the lawn of the Marion Music Hall on June 2 to kneel in solidarity for nine minutes calling for justice for the death of George Floyd and accountability for police brutality.
