The students learned that 10 bees weigh the same as one M&M, and how bees communicate by dancing. We explored beekeeping equipment and which hive box holds the queen and which holds the honey. Marion Holiday Stroll252 views It was all about Santa on December 10 for the annual Marion Holiday Stroll, although at first the Grinch stole the show (but not Christmas) until Santa made his big arrival at Town Wharf to the chanting of his name, stealing back from the Grinch his rightful place as the center of attention. Marion Town Party252 viewsChalk up another successful Marion Town Party as several hundred party-goers found good food and fun on the grounds of the Town House on 8/25. Children of all ages enjoyed inflatable games, climbing the rock wall, or jumping around to music. The annual party has its roots deep in the community and may have started as early at 1900. This year’s event featured live entertainment, a scavenger hunt, and lots of good food.

Marion Holiday Stroll252 viewsThe Marion village streets were filled with holiday revelers on Sunday, December 9, for the annual Marion Holiday Stroll. Santa’s boat docked at the Marion Wharf where the faces of hundreds of children lit up at his arrival. Santa boarded a horse-drawn carriage and paraded through the streets, passing businesses offering free goodies and dodging the whereabouts of that old Grinch who didn’t seem to mind Christmas coming at all this year. After spending several months in hospitals in Florida and Boston, the Tabor Academy graduate and member of the Holy Cross women's rowing team returned to her Pitcher Street residence to continue her recovery from severe injuries sustained in a January 15 collision with a pickup truck in Vero Beach that took the life of her teammate Grace Rett and injured her coach and several other teammat
