appointed Elisabeth “Libby” O’Neil as the new Head Librarian at the
Elizabeth Taber Library in Marion. She will take the place of Judith
Kleven who is retiring May 31 after 26 years.
Before accepting this job, O’Neil was the Youth and Community Outreach
Librarian for the Boston Public Library at Copley Square, Boston and was
the former Children’s Librarian at the South Boston Branch of the Boston
Public Library. Ms. O’Neil will start on June 3, 2013

Marion Natural History Museum303 viewsOver the past two Wednesdays, the MNHM afterschool group visited Bird Island courtesy of Isaac and Peter of the Marion Harbormaster's office. We observed many terns arriving to this crucial nesting spot, as well as oystercatchers, gulls, and a pair of Canadian geese. We inspected nesting boxes prepared by the state Fish & Wildlife department and the habitat restoration improvements to the island. We also toured the 200-year-old lighthouse.

The Derby was held at the Sippican School where scouts raced cars weighing less than 5 ounces down a sloped wooden track. Everyone cheered as the wooden cars raced down the track in packs or four.
