Tabor Academy’s Day of Service253 viewsTabor Academy’s Day of Service was a success, spanning much of the South Coast during ambitious volunteer projects. Scores of students participated in work at the Bog Jog, at the Sippican School in Marion and Alma Del Mar in New Bedford, and at the Dartmouth YMCA, where they picked 2,150 pounds of eggplant, tomatoes, squash, as well as sweet and hot peppers, amounting to upward of 9,000 servings for those in need. Intro to TV Production253 viewsAs a culminating activity, Old Rochester Regional High School students in Intro to TV Production, Video Journalism and Bulldog TV, traveled to Boston to view a live broadcast of the noon news at WBZ-TV, a CBS affiliate. Mike Noyce, set designer at WBZ led the group on a tour of the facility. Students were able to view the live broadcast of the news both from the control room and in the studio. After the newscast, anchor Paula Ebben and Meteorologist Barry Burbank fielded questions from the group.

Hairspray at Tabor Academy253 viewsHairspray, the musical, is coming to Tabor Academy’s Fireman Center for the Performing Arts in Hoyt Hall in Marion. Hannah Rolighed stars as lead role Tracey Turnblad who transforms her life through dance and determination, while also transforming her hometown of Baltimore by challenging segregation and racism.
