MBTA Commuter Rail101 viewsThe initial group of brand-new MBTA Commuter Rail cars destined for Rochester were in West Wareham on June 16, nearing the end of a long journey that took the cars from South Korea where they were constructed to Baltimore, Maryland, where they were put on rails and eventually brought to Massachusetts and welcomed by a crew of MBTA personnel. Tri-Town firefighters101 viewsThe holidays were challenging for Tri-Town firefighters. Marion and Rochester fire departments were among towns assisting Wareham after a mulch pile in a remote location off County Road caught fire on Christmas Eve. Firefighters worked in cold temperatures for eight hours, dispensing approximately 200,000 gallons of water to extinguish the fire.
