Sea Turtles322 viewsCoast Guard family members and civilian passengers about Coast Guard Cutter Kodiak Island out of Atlantic Beach North Carolina prepare to release a rehabilitated sea turtle off the North Carolina coast Dec. 15, 2014. The Coast Guard, in cooperation with the North Carolina Resources Commission, helped release a total of 19 rehabilitated sea turtles into the Gulf Stream off the coast of North Carolina including Kemp’s ridley sea turtles, green sea turtles and a loggerhead sea turtle.

Buzzards Bay Watershed Ride 322 viewsIt was a windy ride for the 120 participants of the 9th Annual Buzzards Bay Watershed Ride on October 4. From Westport to Falmouth, cyclists rode either the 75-mile or 35-mile route to raise funds for the Buzzards Bay Coalition, bringing in nearly $90,000. Sippican School Garden Club322 viewsThe Sippican School Garden Club has been awarded a $2,000 grant from the Whole Kids Foundation to fund installation of a greenhouse on the school campus. This grant was supplemented by a $2,000 matching contribution from the Marion Garden Group, $1,000 from a donated discretionary fund, and $500 from another anonymous donor to fully fund the project.
