Plymouth Sands Trail Riders 369 viewsOn Sunday, October 28, the Plymouth Sands Trail Riders bike club held a hare scramble at the Mattapoisett landfill. The club, which boasts over 300 members from all around New England, had over 100 riders participate in the event. Riders from teens up to seniors took off for the 40 minute races around the 2.5 mile wooded track. ORR Track369 viewsOld Rochester Regional High School indoor track and field team took first in most of the events of the meet held at Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School on Monday, December 31. ORR was in competition against several area high schools including GNB and Fairhaven High School. In the races, the ORR girls took first place in the 50 HH, 50 D, 600M, 300M, and 1M. The festivities included the National Anthem sung by Jennel Garcia and opening pitches thrown by Police Chief’s Lincoln Miller (Marion), Mary Lyons (Mattapoisett), and Paul McGee (Rochester), as well as Fire Chiefs Thomas Joyce (Marion), Andrew Murray (Mattapoisett) and Scott Weigel (Rochester). Old Rochester Regional Youth Football368 viewsThe Old Rochester Regional Youth Football teams are hitting the fields hard in order to prepare for their upcoming 2012 season. This year marks the seventh year for the program. With over 150 players in the program, there are six teams and a dedicated staff of coaches and parents for a support system.
