Sharing the Harvest387 viewsOn September 25, 70 Old Hammondtown School 6th-graders went to "Sharing the Harvest," a volunteer-staffed farm at the Dartmouth YMCA that grows and distributes fresh food to local food banks. Students processed thousands of pounds of butternut squash, prepared seedling trays, planted garlic for next year's harvest, and unearthed sweet potatoes, despite the rain. The trip was sponsored by the PTO as part of a new social studies framework. Photos courtesy of Sara Jacobsen.Oct 03, 2018
