Hornets Nest201 viewsJulie Craig shared this picture of a hornets’ nest on her house attached to two floodlights, which resembles an alien – very creepy, but cool, as we head into the Halloween season.Sep 29, 2021

Paca Run149 viewsSeptember 25 found animal lovers of all ages visiting alpaca farms throughout the region in a game called “Paca Run.” Mattapoisett’s Pine Meadows Farm participated in the event, which included five farms where folks could pick up playing cards. At the end of the two-day event coinciding with National Alpaca Farm Days, the best “Hand” won prizes. But, really, the big winners were the alpacas themselves, who received bountiful treats from their admirers throughout the weekend. Photos by Marilou NewellSep 29, 2021

Oyster Festival211 viewsWhat do you get when you mix good music with good foods like pizza and oysters washed down with beer? Well, the 3rd Annual Beer and Oyster Festival hosted by the Sippican Lands Trust, of course. This year’s event was held on September 18 on the grounds of the Cushing Community Center in Marion. Droves of people lined up to buy tickets, while others danced and pranced to the tunes provided by Retro Roots. The annual fundraiser supports the work of the SLT.
