Rose Bowman212 viewsRose Bowman, seen on Monday outside Center School, is retiring as principal of Mattapoisett Schools at the end of this academic year. Bowman’s career dates back to 1971 when she began teaching at the Hathaway School in New Bedford. She has been serving in the Old Rochester Regional School District over 30 years and says that education has evolved so that children are consumed less with rote instruction and now are learning how to think through creative problem-solving. Last year the event was not publicized at all, said this year’s organizers, Heather and Michael Bichsel. “But we decided since people were going to show up anyway, we’d help to keep this going.” Jan 05, 2022
