Super Subs665 viewsAbout 35 students and 20 adult members of Friends of Old Rochester Music (FORM) gathered in the early morning hours of February 3 to make hundreds of submarine sandwiches in their annual effort to raise money for the Old Rochester School District’s various music programs. The sandwiches, ten-inch Italian subs piled high with toppings, were pre-sold in the days leading up to Super Bowl XLII at $6 apiece by the student musicians from all of the Old Rochester Schools. Judo Champ620 viewsAlyssa Quaintance of Rochester recently took first place in the 5- to 6-year-old division at the Mass State Championships held on January 27 in Wakefield, MA. None of her three matches lasted more than 30 seconds as she ran through the competition. Alyssa won all her matches by Ippon, which is similar to a knockout in boxing. Judo is an all grappling Martial Art (no kicking or punching). Alyssa trains with three-time World Masters champ Bob Bridges. (Photo courtesy of Bob Bridges).Feb 06, 2008
