Crocodile River Music21 viewsOn Saturday, May 17, as part of Art Week, the Marion Arts Center presented Crocodile River Music performing West African music and dance in Marion's Music Hall to an audience of about 70 people. A few children danced happily along with members of Crocodile River Music during several pieces. For the final piece of the event, almost everyone was up and dancing. The energy was terrific. Clean Up88 viewsAfter a rainy Saturday, the Scouts from Pack 32 and Troop 32 of Marion along with countless volunteers from the community spent the morning on Sunday, April 27 cleaning up multiple areas around town. With the generous support of the Washburn Park Trust, the scouts, their families and countless volunteers started their spring-cleaning donating numerous items to a local charity (Gifts to Give). The day of service ended with a mountain of debris and trash for the Marion DPW to collect. Everything from car partApr 30, 2025

Marion Natural History Museum137 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum afterschool group enjoyed learning about Marion's vernal pools last week. We had a chance to handle some wood frog eggs, take a close look at some aquatic invertebrates, and learn about the temporary nature of these important habitats. All specimens were returned safely to their homes after the program. The museum will be open during April vacation week for crafts and exploration. Check out our website, www.marionmuseum.org, for a listing of all of our upcoming programs. PhApr 16, 2025
