First Congregational Church of Marion 48 viewsThe First Congregational Church of Marion welcomed a group of enthusiastic and energetic children from Kindergarten to sixth grade to the church's Vacation Bible School held August 15-19. The children enjoyed a full, exciting week of creative projects, interactive Bible stories and lots of recreational games. The midweek surprise of a live Betta Fish highlighted their week and reinforced the biblical teaching of “seven days of creation,” alluding to the fifth day. Photo Courtesy of Raquel G. Macfarlane

Marion Natural History Museum24 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum's Coastal Exploration group had a wonderful time last week exploring Marion's shoreline, inland wetlands and woodland areas. We collected examples of plankton, caught fish and frogs in our nets, investigated tide pools and took trips to Bird and Ram Island. The museum would like to thank Hannah Moore and David Wilson and Andrew Miller of the Marion Harbormaster Department for their help in making it such a special week.
