The June 20 meeting of the Bourne- Wareham Art Association will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at BB’s Restaurant, 2424 Cranberry Highway, Wareham. After a short business meeting, Jane Egan of Lakeville will present a watercolor demonstration on Masa paper. Japanese Masa paper is an acid-free paper made from a vegetable based sulfate compound. It was initially used with Sumi-e brush and ink technique, but can be used with water based paint and in print making.
Jane, a graduate of Massachusetts College of Art, is a multifaceted artist who works with a variety of mediums, including oil paint, watercolor and pastel. Among Jane’s most recent accolades, she was awarded “Best in Show” for pastel works in both the 2015 Bourne-Wareham Art Association and Taunton Art Association member shows. Her pastel works have been juried into surrounding gallery exhibitions and national shows. Her works have also been on exhibit at the Marion Art Center, Marion.
Jane is a member of a variety of area art-related societies, including the Bourne-Wareham Art Association, Pastel Painters of Cape Cod, Taunton Art Association, Westport Art Group, Cape Cod Art Association and Marion Art Center.
