SUMMARY:Declaration & Dialogue: Reflections on 250 Years
DESCRIPTION:Declaration & Dialogue: Reflections on 250 Years opens on July 10 with an artist reception on Friday\, July 17 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the MAC\, located at 80 Pleasant St. in Marion. \nThe exhibition and the reception are free to the public\, who are warmly encouraged to visit. \nAs we mark the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence\, we invited artists to engage deeply with what this milestone means now – through lenses of commemoration\, critique\, hope\, and transformation. This exhibition showcases contemporary works that spark conversation\, paired with historic artifacts or artworks on loan from private collections or institutions. Works in the show reflect the artist’s personal interpretation of the Declaration’s legacy – its ideals\, challenges\, complexities\, or contradictions. \nArtists whose works will be on display at the exhibition include: Erline Belton\, Matt Brackett\, Margaret Bruzelius\, Rebecca Doughty\, Robert Dunn\, Susan Gentile\, Helen Granger\, Christy Gunnels\, Michael Hubert\, Mary N. Hurwitz\, Elyse Laurelle\, Susan G. Lawrence\, Keith Maddy\, John Magnan\, David Owen Maloney\, Gayle Wells Mandle\, Lidia Mikhaylova\, Nancy Dyer Mitton\, Alanna Nelson\, Cher Sauter\, Rebecca Stoffer\, Peter Stone\, Herby Thompson Erline Belton\, Matt Brackett\, Margaret Bruzelius\, Rebecca Doughty\, Robert Dunn\, Susan Gentile\, Helen Granger\, Christy Gunnels\, Michael Hubert\, Mary N.
