Rochester Road Race 382 viewsThe Rochester Road Race saw 348 runners finish on August 13, 2011. Although there were 20 fewer runners from last year, the event still managed to raise 453 pounds of food for Damien's Pantry in Wareham. The men's winner was Julien De Marian of Paris, France, with a time of 15:57, and the women's winner was Jennifer Almeida of Acushnet with a time of 20:19.      (4 votes)

Rochester Bakery427 viewsThe Rochester Bakery and Cafe, a longtime local hang-out at Plumb Corner, was destroyed in a catastrophic fire on the evening of July 28, 2011. Eyewitnesses described the fire as starting with several explosions at the rear of the building. The blaze displaced two residents and three businesses.
