John Gibbons Bench Mark1913 viewsMattapoisett town officials, along with friends and relatives of the late John Gibbons of Mattapoisett, were on hand this past Tuesday evening for the formal dedication of a bench outside the Mattapoisett Town Hall in Mr. Gibbons’ memory. The bench is located alongside a similar one which was previously dedicated to late former Selectman John “Jack” DeCosta. Sounds of the Season2246 viewsSounds of holiday music filled the air last weekend at the Mattapoisett Historical Museum and Carriage House where violinist and music teacher Jean West and a strings ensemble played to the public. Mending Fences4108 viewsTwo students from the Loft School in Marion pose behind the new fence which was erected at the playground they use at Saint Rita’s Parish. The playground, located at the corner of Front Street and Vine, is now in the process of undergoing much-needed improvements and renovations. All of this year’s fund-raising efforts at the Loft School will go towards further improvements to the playgound. This year the Literary Contest winner was Sam Toomey, a seventh grade student from Mattapoisett. The winner of the Art Contest was Rebecca Davis, also in the seventh grade, from Rochester.
