RMS Auction429 viewsRochester went Hollywood on Friday, March 26, 2010 when the Rochester Parent/Teacher Organization (PTO) hosted a live auction with a Hollywood theme. The auction raised nearly $6,000, and that money will be used to pay for new playground equipment. Zumbathon429 viewsThe ORR high school gymnasium was alive with music and movement on Sunday, April 11, 2010, when dancers took to the floor for a good cause. For a $30 contribution, participants could Zumba for three hours, and the proceeds of the Zumbathon went to Compassionate Care for ALS in Falmouth, a non-profit organization that provides equipment and support to families affected by ALS. The Zumbathon was in honor of Jeffrey Lawrence, a 47-year-old man living with ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis).

Project Linus429 viewsStudents from Old Rochester Regional and the Mattapoisett Council on Aging joined together on May 13 to donate their blankets to the Boston-area chapter of Project Linus, an organization that gives blankets to sick and emotionally-distressed children. Trebuchet Time429 viewsSenior Carl Dias and freshman Callum McLaughlin from Old Rochester Regional High School’s engineering class constructed this large working trebuchet with guidance from their teacher Tom Norris.
