Manguito451 viewsCenter School students were introduced to Latin rhythms and percussion instruments by the Boston-based educational Latin American music group Manguito during an afternoon presentation on January 24. Manguito members really captured the attention of the kids, resulting in plenty of learning while the group’s sizzling salsa and merengue music resulted in an eruption of dancing and spontaneous conga lines. On Friday, August 22, a benefit tournament of duplicate and social bridge will take place at the Marion Music Hall. The entry fee is $25. Doors open at 1:30 pm, light refreshments served and the games begin at 2:00. All proceeds will be donated to the Elizabeth Taber Library.

Chili Cook-off451 viewsThe MattMen of Mattapoisett Congregational Church came together Sunday night, January 25th ,to see who amongst them cooks up the best man-made chili. Tasting was free to all who came. Those who wished to vote contributed $5 to The Baby Project of New Bedford. $518 was raised for The Baby Project.
