Two categories – professional establishment and public safety – competed for best judged chowder and people’s choice. Octopurrfest487 viewsThe Rochester cat shelter “It’s All About the Animals” held its 2nd Annual Octopurrfest on Sunday, October 2. Raising over $7,000, owner/operator Pam Robinson said this year’s event was “absolutely over the top!” The shelter is in the process of building an addition to create a cat room and a porch. “I cannot thank everyone enough for their wonderful donation and participation,” said Robinson. Carolyn Titcomb487 viewsOn April 8, family and friends gathered at the residence of Carolyn Titcomb of Mattapoisett to celebrate her 100th birthday. Those in attendance traveled from throughout New England and from North Carolina to attend the event. Titcomb said she was overwhelmed by seeing so many people assembled just for her and said of her special birthday, “I don’t know how I got here!” Titcomb has two sons, William Titcomb of Marion, and Peter Titcomb of North Carolina, four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
