Flag Day Ceremony 490 viewsRochester Memorial School 4th Grade held an all school Flag Day ceremony on June 14th honoring and thanking community first responders. Commencing this energy filled event was the raising of the flag to the National Anthem followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Acknowledgements to a fantastic show of local and state police, fire fighters, EMT’s, veterans and serving military heroes was presented through 4th grade students and famous poems, songs and personal thank yous. Think Pink Day490 viewsFourth graders at Sippican School under the guidance of teachers, Nicole Radke, Kim Souza, MJ Menezes and Courtney Sheehan, organized the school’s first ever ‘Think Pink Day’ on Friday, October 25th. The purpose of this spirit-wear fundraiser was to build community support and recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Freezin' for a Reason 2014490 viewsParticipants in the 2014 Polar Plunge on January 1 were encouraged to wear costumes for the event, which raised thousands of dollars for the BAM Foundation. BAM is an organization that offers financial assistance to families battling cancer to help offset the unexpected costs of cancer treatment. Hundreds of people turned out for the event, with over a hundred participants who plunged into 34 degree waters, just a few degrees warmer than the 28 degree air temperature that morning.
