Taste of the Tri-Town381 views The fourth annual Taste of the Tri-Town was held on Friday, September 7, 2012, at the Mattapoisett YMCA. Almost 100 guests turned out to help support the Lighthouse Fund, an endowment maintained by the ORR Tri-Town Education Foundation, which offers grants to students and teachers for educational projects that extend beyond their normal curriculum. Summer Reading Program381 viewsPlumb Library had a party on Saturday, September 15, 2012, to celebrate the success of its summer reading program, "Dream Big: Read." They did a different style of program this year which was open to students and their families, as well as their teachers. Students chose their own books and logged their hours a website. The fund raiser was originally scheduled to run for two nights and to include Sunday but was cancelled due to Hurricane Sandy. Marion Art Center Show381 viewsThe Marion Art Center unveiled its new show in a special opening reception at the gallery on Friday, January 11. The 2013 Winter Members Exhibition features over 60 works by about 30 local artists, some well-known and some new to the local art scene.
