Veteran's Day 2013491 viewsThe Tri-Town honored veterans on Monday with moving programs. In Marion, the parade included Cub Scout Pack 32, Master of Ceremonies Joe Napoli, and the Sippican School Band. In Mattpoisett, Daniel Mazzuca gave a speech that focused on what our country can do for veterans in need of jobs, housing, and mental health services. Celebrity sightings included Santa Claus on his carriage, the Grinch, the Nutcracker, and Sparky the Fire Dog. The Showstoppers and The Sippican School Marching Band lit up the afternoon until the tree lighting ceremony lit up the night, the finale of that starry-skied evening. Thank you to all the volunteers who made this such a happy and fun-filled event. This annual event raises funds for Helping Hands and Hooves, a nonprofit organization in Mattapoisett that provides horseback riding lessons and therapeutic sessions for people with special needs.
