5th Annual 5K Turkey Trot492 viewsThere were 31 registered runners for this year’s 5th Annual 5K Turkey Trot for Marion Recreation on Sunday, November 22. The course takes runners from Tabor Academy down Front Street through the village and back again to Tabor. Over 100 participants took the icy plunge into the frigid waters at Mattapoisett Town Beach on January 1 during the annual Freezin’ for a Reason Polar Plunge on New Year’s Day. Raising over $7,000, owner/operator Pam Robinson said this year’s event was “absolutely over the top!” The shelter is in the process of building an addition to create a cat room and a porch. “I cannot thank everyone enough for their wonderful donation and participation,” said Robinson.
