He discussed many of the important objects that he discovered in attics of local homes and how much they were worth. He also appraised objects brought in by Council on Aging members as well as discussing the values of objects he brought in from his antiques shop. The speech was taped by the local cable station, ORCTV, channel 9 for Comcast, channel 36 for Verizon subscribers.

Freezin' for a Reason 2014389 viewsParticipants in the 2014 Polar Plunge on January 1 were encouraged to wear costumes for the event, which raised thousands of dollars for the BAM Foundation. BAM is an organization that offers financial assistance to families battling cancer to help offset the unexpected costs of cancer treatment. Hundreds of people turned out for the event, with over a hundred participants who plunged into 34 degree waters, just a few degrees warmer than the 28 degree air temperature that morning. Turtle Care389 viewsSome of the residents of Jenney Lane at The Cove in Marion have found a new passion in rescuing diamond-backed terrapin eggs and safely releasing the hatchlings into the wild. A private neighborhood group, along with “Turtle Guy” Don Lewis and wife Sue Weiber Nourse, created a terrapin habitat restoration project knows as the turtle garden at The Cove.
