Family Fun Festival 500 viewsFamilies came out in record numbers to enjoy the 4th Annual Fall Free Family Fun Festival sponsored by the Mattapoisett’s Lion Club on October 19 held at Shipyard Park. Bruce Rocha of the club estimated attendance at over 400. Kids and adults alike enjoyed free face painting, bowling with pumpkins, a corn hole toss, snacks, hayrides to Ned’s Point and, yes, free pumpkins to take home. Artist Visit499 viewsOn November 19, Author/Illustrator Teresa Flavin visited each of Mattapoisett Center Schools third grade classes. Ms. Flavin is the illustrator of Joseph Bruchacs play Pushing Up the Sky featured in the 3rd Graders reading book. Her presentation included showing the students original sketches and artwork from her books, discussing the processes involved in creating artwork for publication and a short hands-on drawing project.
