New Year Plunge469 viewsOn January 1, 2013, Mattapoisett Town Beach played host to a New Year’s polar plunge fundraiser. The event, which attracted over 400 people, raised money to benefit BAM Foundation, Inc., a New Bedford non-profit which donates money to South Coast families dealing with members who have cancer. ORR Basketball469 viewsThe ORR Lady Bulldogs Varsity Basketball team dominated Dighton-Rehoboth 50-24 Thursday night in front of a home crowd in the ORR gymnasium. The girls went on a 16-2 run in the first quarter and never gave up their lead. The team improves to 4-1 overall and 3-0 in the South Coast Conference. Klondike Derby 469 viewsThe Marion Boy Scouts Troops 32 competed in the Klondike Derby held at Camp Cachalot in Carver, MA. All of the competing towns had to use sledges and Klondike Gold Rush themes to compete in a race. The winning troop earned a grand outdoor winter adventure. The event helps the scouts test their basic camping and survival skills.
