Touch-A-Truck 395 viewsMarion Recreation held its 8th annual Touch-A-Truck event at Washburn Park on May 11. The turnout exceeded past Kids Equipment Fun Day events in Marion, especially last year’s, which was repeatedly postponed and then canceled altogether. Tour de Crème395 viewsThis year’s 4th annual Tour de Crème raised $12,000 for outdoor recreation in Mattapoisett! There were 350 riders consuming over 1,200 scoops of ice cream all for a good cause. Taber Library Ribbon Cutting395 viewsTaber Library opened its front doors on Monday for the grand re-opening of the main entrance. The entrance renovation is now complete, and residents, town officials, library staff, and family members of donor Peggy Repass converged for a ceremonial ribbon cutting to mark the occasion. Evening on Sippican Harbor395 views(L-R) Marion party planners Joan Asker, MaryAnn Hayes, & Jori Borden set the stage for an "Evening on Sippican Harbor" to be held on August 7 from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm. The evening will be a celebration of Marion's COA and launch the next phase of fundraising by the Friends of the COA for the build-out of floor-to-ceiling walls for existing office space, creating the necessary privacy for townspeople to take advantage of the growing number of services being offered at the Center.

Sippican Lands Trust 395 viewsJim Bride, Sippican Lands Trust executive director, and contractor W.S. Bradford welcomed the public to a groundbreaking ceremony for an 1,800-foot universally accessible wheelchair boardwalk on June 29 at the SLT’s Osprey Marsh property on Point Road in Marion. SLT board members, contributors, and a few community members were in attendance. They hope to have the 1,800 ft. all accessible/wheelchair boardwalk completed in six months. This boardwalk will be the first of its kind in the Southcoast region.
