The students learned that 10 bees weigh the same as one M&M, and how bees communicate by dancing. We explored beekeeping equipment and which hive box holds the queen and which holds the honey. Students from ‘fundraising rival’ Sandwich High also showed up, with scores of students and staff making a dash in and quickly out of the chilly waters. The plunge raised about $8,000. Marion Natural History Museum505 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum after school group had a wonderful time exploring what works (and what doesn't) when constructing a wooden sailboat. The students constructed their own boat, either a single hull or catamaran, and added a sail and keel.
