Santa Arrives451 viewsMattapoisett held its annual holiday celebration and tree lighting on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at Shipyard Park. The rain couldn't dampen holiday spirits as visitors enjoyed delicious food and listened to Christmas music performed by the Showstoppers. Children made their own ornaments and hung them on the Christmas tree. They also danced with Rudolph and Frosty and shared their Christmas wishes with Santa Claus. Photo by Felix Perez.

Vote Here451 viewsThe only contested races in the Annual Mattapoisett Town Election on May 18, 2010 were for Library Trustee and Constable. The rest of the ballot contained incumbents seeking re-election, and two questions: one to make low income and some senior residents exempt from a Community Preservation Act surcharge, and another asking town residents whether or not they wanted to continue using public funds to remove snow and ice from private ways. It was an appropriate send-off to summer, before Old Rochester schools started back up on September 1. Photo by Felix Perez.
