Frozen Princesses402 viewsOn December 21, two princesses visited the Mattapoisett Public Library to read stories and sing songs from the Disney film Frozen. Princesses Elsa and Anna beguiled the children as well as their parents in an hour-long performance culminating in hugs and a photo session. Historic Fire401 viewsAccording to the Marion assessor’s database, the house was built in 1690. Other records indicate that the house suffered a fire in the early 1700’s, and was rebuilt in 1750. The extent of the rebuild is unknown. Like many 17th century homes, this house originally had a center chimney that will be completely removed with the move.

Harbor Days Craze401 viewsThe town gazebo was the scene of another sultry Harbor Days this past weekend. Rows of vendors peddled their fun wares while visitors of all ages enjoyed music, conversation and the best strawberry shortcake in the world. The festivities started in earnest on Friday night with chowder and seafood rolls, and continued until Sunday. Only 51 more weeks until Harbor Days 2011! Photos by Felix Perez.

Volunteers sample water to test oxygen saturation, clarity, temperature and more. Volunteers, especially in Marion, are needed and anyone can get involved. Children enjoyed cotton candy, a bounce house and face-painting, while the grown-ups enjoyed conversation and good weather.
