The Militia demonstrated 18th century living, made beef stew, completed drills, and talked about the dentistry methods of that time period. This year marks the seventh year for the program. With over 150 players in the program, there are six teams and a dedicated staff of coaches and parents for a support system. 2012 Stone Horse Builder’s Cup515 viewsMarion resident Jim Stewart and his wife Maura teamed up with Doug and Ingrid Scott of Castine, Maine to win the 2012 Stone Horse Builder’s Cup Race on Buzzards Bay earlier this month. 3rd Annual Bulldog Dash515 viewsAlmost 200 runners and walkers braved the autumn wind chill to turn out for the third annual ORR Bulldog Dash on Saturday, November 24. The dash was held to raise funds for the purchase of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) for the athletic department as well as to purchase equipment for the Cross Country teams. New Year Plunge515 viewsOn January 1, 2013, Mattapoisett Town Beach played host to a New Year’s polar plunge fundraiser. The event, which attracted over 400 people, raised money to benefit BAM Foundation, Inc., a New Bedford non-profit which donates money to South Coast families dealing with members who have cancer. The Tabor team, which has almost 40 players, had a 1-2 record going into Saturday’s competition.
