Family Fun Festival 408 viewsFamilies came out in record numbers to enjoy the 4th Annual Fall Free Family Fun Festival sponsored by the Mattapoisett’s Lion Club on October 19 held at Shipyard Park. Bruce Rocha of the club estimated attendance at over 400. Kids and adults alike enjoyed free face painting, bowling with pumpkins, a corn hole toss, snacks, hayrides to Ned’s Point and, yes, free pumpkins to take home. Princesses Elsa and Anna beguiled the children as well as their parents in an hour-long performance culminating in hugs and a photo session. Music was provided by Felonious Funk, and party-goers enjoyed a wide array of finger foods and fine spirits. Friendly conversation lingered over the silent auction tables, which offered original oil paintings, handmade felted purses, memberships to the Wareham YMCA and the Marion Art Center, and plenty of gift certificate to area businesses.
