Marion Natural History Museum518 viewsTalented artist and wood carver James Babbit, Sr. made a wonderful dollhouse for his adult sister, Cynthia Babbit Bryden. Karilon Babbit Grainger inherited it from her aunt, and has now donated the dollhouse to the Marion Natural History Museum for all to enjoy. The fantastic structure is just perfect for the imaginative play of our visitors, children and adults alike. Working lights, beautiful furniture, and many minute details make this item a fun way to spend some time playing at the museum.

Marion Holiday Stroll518 viewsThe Marion village streets were filled with holiday revelers on Sunday, December 9, for the annual Marion Holiday Stroll. Santa’s boat docked at the Marion Wharf where the faces of hundreds of children lit up at his arrival. Santa boarded a horse-drawn carriage and paraded through the streets, passing businesses offering free goodies and dodging the whereabouts of that old Grinch who didn’t seem to mind Christmas coming at all this year. Knit OR Crochet Club518 viewsIn May of 2018 during a Bulldog Block in Señora Carreira's Spanish classroom, Lily Govoni, Class of 2019 at Old Rochester Regional High School, expressed her desire to create a knitting club to teach other students how to knit. Lily is a very kind and talented student, and Señora Carreira did not hesitate to say, "Let's do it!" The idea was to have a group of students share patterns and spend time in a calming activity to help reduce the stress that many students experience in high school.

Mattapoisett Town Oyster Farmer518 viewsBill Mansfield has become the de facto Mattapoisett town oyster farmer, overseeing the town’s oyster farming program since 2014. His efforts coupled with a crew of about 20 other volunteers has taken on the labor-intensive work of rearing young oysters to maturity in Pine Island Pond.
