Rochester turned 340 years old on June 4, and the third grade class from RMS was invited to celebrate with some cake and ice cream at the senior center on Tuesday. Students started the day with a tour around historic Rochester before breaking for lunch and sharing a large birthday cake with seniors. Evening on Sippican Harbor526 views(L-R) Marion party planners Joan Asker, MaryAnn Hayes, & Jori Borden set the stage for an "Evening on Sippican Harbor" to be held on August 7 from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm. The evening will be a celebration of Marion's COA and launch the next phase of fundraising by the Friends of the COA for the build-out of floor-to-ceiling walls for existing office space, creating the necessary privacy for townspeople to take advantage of the growing number of services being offered at the Center.

Family Fun Festival 526 viewsFamilies came out in record numbers to enjoy the 4th Annual Fall Free Family Fun Festival sponsored by the Mattapoisett’s Lion Club on October 19 held at Shipyard Park. Bruce Rocha of the club estimated attendance at over 400. Kids and adults alike enjoyed free face painting, bowling with pumpkins, a corn hole toss, snacks, hayrides to Ned’s Point and, yes, free pumpkins to take home. Class of 2020 526 viewsGraduating seniors in the Old Rochester Regional High School Class of 2020 drove around to the back of the school building on May 28, where they were greeted by faculty and administration. After arriving in order of homeroom to ensure safe spacing, the seniors turned in textbooks and received yearbooks, a surprise COVID-19 gift bag, and a long-sleeve t-shirt decorated with the mascot Bulldog and the word ‘Quarantine’ spelled across the front.
