Marion Town Party527 viewsChalk up another successful Marion Town Party as several hundred party-goers found good food and fun on the grounds of the Town House on 8/25. Children of all ages enjoyed inflatable games, climbing the rock wall, or jumping around to music. The annual party has its roots deep in the community and may have started as early at 1900. This year’s event featured live entertainment, a scavenger hunt, and lots of good food.

Pinewood Derby527 viewsMattapoisett Pack 53 held its Pinewood Derby on March 9 at the Mattapoisett Congregational Church. The Cub Scout division had 14 entries, and the Enthusiasts division had 11 entries. The five fastest Cub Scouts cars going to the regional competition in Rochester on March 23: 1st Gabe Michaud, 2nd Kyle Pina, 3rd Thomas Tseki, 4th Matthew Crain, and 5th Eamon Perez. Matthew Crain's blue and gold lego car won Best Scout Theme car, and the Most Unique Design went to Liam Garvin's camping car.
