Manguito members really captured the attention of the kids, resulting in plenty of learning while the group’s sizzling salsa and merengue music resulted in an eruption of dancing and spontaneous conga lines. FORM Concert 530 viewsThe tri-town FORM concert brought together students whose combined musicality entertained a full house. The performers sang song style selections from spiritual to jazz and the crowd pleaser “Don’t Worry Be Happy” by Rochester Memorial School. Combining the voices of nearly 300 students the finale was a soulful treatment of “Wade In The Water”. Funds raised through FORM concerts support scholarships awarded each year to graduating seniors who have completed at least two full years in a school music program.

Old Rochester Regional Athletic Hall of Fame530 viewsJune 21 marked the official Old Rochester Regional Athletic Hall of Fame induction of alumni athletes whose accomplishments will forever be remembered. Marion Master Plan530 viewsMarion took its first step toward developing a new Marion Master Plan on September 27 by having residents and town officials alike gather to review past master plans and split into focus groups to devise a new vision for Marion. Many agreed that the current Master Plan is still relevant, with the majority concerned mostly with preserving the historic character of the town.

The students explored Meadow Island and enjoyed some of the local attractions of our harbor from the water. Marion Holiday Stroll530 viewsThe Marion village streets were filled with holiday revelers on Sunday, December 9, for the annual Marion Holiday Stroll. Santa’s boat docked at the Marion Wharf where the faces of hundreds of children lit up at his arrival. Santa boarded a horse-drawn carriage and paraded through the streets, passing businesses offering free goodies and dodging the whereabouts of that old Grinch who didn’t seem to mind Christmas coming at all this year.
