March is Reading Month427 viewsThe students at Center School in Mattapoisett honored the month of the Young Reader and Dr. Seuss’ birthday on March 2. Children came dressed in stripes, wearing hats and toting copies of their favorite Dr. Seuss books. The cafeteria served green eggs and ham for lunch, and throughout the day, everyone enjoyed many of the wonderful books that Dr. Seuss wrote. Ready, Set, Go!427 viewsOn Sunday, March 21, 2010 The Marion Cub Scouts Pack 32 revived the annual soap-box derby after a three-year absence. Scouts raced carts down Holmes Street in Marion for a chance to help make their den the fastest in the pack. Mom's Running427 viewsOver 600 runners came to Mattapoisett on May 9, 2010 to celebrate mom in the fourth annual Tiara Classic 5K road race. This year’s race had more runners than ever, despite the wind and cold temperatures. Harbor Days Craze427 viewsThe town gazebo was the scene of another sultry Harbor Days this past weekend. Rows of vendors peddled their fun wares while visitors of all ages enjoyed music, conversation and the best strawberry shortcake in the world.
