Rochester Scout502 viewsRochester Lions Club members joined forces again on December 15 with Scout Troop 31 and other community volunteers at the Council on Aging to help make the COA’s Christmas Holiday Dinner program successful. Scouts packed 68 Christmas dinner bags of turkey, fresh vegetables, and all the fixings for delivery. The Rochester Lions Club works hard all year to raise the funds to provide these holiday meals at Thanksgiving and Christmas to area seniors and families in need.

Frozen Princesses502 viewsOn December 21, two princesses visited the Mattapoisett Public Library to read stories and sing songs from the Disney film Frozen. Princesses Elsa and Anna beguiled the children as well as their parents in an hour-long performance culminating in hugs and a photo session. Relay for Life501 viewsThe American Cancer Society held their Annual Relay for Life of the Tri-Towns from 6:00p.m. on Friday, June 12 until noon on Saturday June 13 at Old Rochester Regional High School's track. Circus Time501 viewsThe Cole Brothers Circus made its annual visit to Rochester's Plumb Corner on Wednesday, June 24 and Thursday, June 25. The Circus, which featured highflying aerial acts, animal acts and plenty of clowns played four shows under the big top during its two-day stay. Library Social501 viewsParticipants in the Mattapoisett summer reading program, “Starship Adventure at Your Library,” enjoyed an ice cream social on August 12 at the Mattapoisett Free Public Library. Over 227 children and their families participated throughout the summer, and approximately 100 participants came to enjoy the ice cream at the social.
