2014 Buzzards Bay Watershed Ride429 viewsOver 150 cyclists celebrated the beauty of the Buzzards Bay area on October 5 during the 2014 Buzzards Bay Watershed Ride that passed through Rochester at Eastover Farm. A 75-mile ride to raise fund and awareness of the BBC started at Horseneck Beach in Westport all went all the way to Falmouth, and the half-route 35-mile ride started in Rochester. Mattapoisett Tree Committee429 viewsMattapoisett fifth grader Fiona Hoben won 1st prize in the Arbor Day poster contest sponsored by the Mattapoisett Tree Committee in partnership with the Massachusetts Urban and Community Forestry Program. Runner up was Camryn Maniatis. Fifteen students worked with Old Hammondtown School art instructor Greta Anderson. The posters were judged by a group of Mattapoisett residents whose understanding and appreciation of art brought professional level review to the event.
